Kim Bockover

With over 20 years with the Barrington Group Inc., Kim has dedicated herself to the development and on-going management of the Floridian Club of Sarasota and to exceed expectations of its members. Joining the Barrington Group in 1999, Kim as overseen properties in Indiana and Sarasota, including one condominium conversion, and the construction and sales of an upscale community in University Park, Florida. Prior to coming to BGI, Kim worked in Washington D.C. for a major lobbying group in their Technical Services, Public Health and Safety Division, along with several years in the Armed Forces. Originally from Connecticut, Kim has made Florida her home and considers the continued success of the Floridian Club her long-term goal!

Penny Smith
 

Penny has an innate ability to showcase our homes and tailor the leasing experience to each individual by quickly identifying needs and providing a positive and honest approach to all situations. Thus, Penny creates a trusting and enjoyable relationship for each person considering the Floridian Club as their new home. Penny’s background in the Assisted Living and Memory Care Industry along with her unmatched work ethics, customer service skills, love for people and desire to make members happy, brings the Floridian Club a plethora of positive reviews and long-term commitments from everyone living at The Club. Originally from the Midwest, Penny lives in Sarasota with her husband Jason and dog Charlie. Her son is in the Army and is stationed at The Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California. In her spare time Penny enjoys going to the beach, walking, swimming, golfing and cooking.

Malia Dell
 

As the Coastal Connector, Malia offers Floridian members the ability to form clubs and enjoy a calendar full of social opportunities! Malia is up to the challenge, as over 500 new members will move in over the next year, all with one main goal in mind - meet new people and have fun! Born in Hawaii, Malia has resided all over the country and world; Hawaii, Chicago, Vermont, Massachusetts, Italy, Spain, Turkey, Maine & now Florida! She loves traveling, meeting people and learning about other cultures. Malia’s love of food and wellness led her to author a popular cookbook titled, Food That Works: Real Meals to Survive the 9 to 5. In 2016 she toured the country doing cooking shows, wellness workshops and professionally speaking. Malia’s other hobbies include, dancing, yoga, arts and crafts, and karaoke! Malia brings our members an exciting, creative and eclectic background that is as diverse as our members!

 

Lisa Latorre


Hand selected as the office administrator, Lisa brings organization, exceptional customer service and ongoing creativity to the Club. Lisa eclectic background includes an office skillset detrimental to the success of our leasing office. However, Lisa’s multi-faceted talents such as professional dance instructor, animal rescue knowledge and bi-lingual proficiency showcase the many benefits staff bring to the Club and its members. Originally from New Jersey, Lisa spent time in Washington D.C, Tallahassee, Florida and has been living in Sarasota for the past 4 years. Lisa has a master’s degree in International Affairs from Florida State. In her spare time she loves to travel and dance salsa.

Leo Gostkowski

Leo has worked for BGI since 2006 and has facilitated many BGI projects, including being integral to the planning stages of The Floridian Club. Wanting to ensure that every member at our community is happy, Leo personally handles all the Maintenance Requests for The Floridan Club, while also contributing as a Property Liaison. Leo’s ability to multi-task has given new light to customer service, while his exceptional knowledge of construction, county regulations, and his forward thinking to solve any roadblock, has made him an essential team player. Prior to working for BGI, Leo followed a family legacy of working for the Manatee County Government. For 12 years, Leo acted as Senior Maintenance Supervisor and Field Foreman, with oversight of renovations and construction for county parks and recreational facilities. Leo resides in Myakka City, where he raises his two sons, Dylan & Caleb. Leo celebrates his love of family in everything he does.
